Summer has always been the most awaited season of the year for most of us. Summer means having fun and happy times. Last April 15-18, 2015 at Peñaplata Central Elementary School, Samal, fun and excitement were truly defined as there were youth campers not only from the Holy Ground Family Fellowship, but also in some other churches who joined the Summer Youth Camp.
The campers were divided into clans which were the Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Asher, Joseph, and Benjamin. Teamwork, cooperation, skills, and efforts were utilized by every clan in the tasks, challenges, and games especially the “Clash of Clans.” Aside from the activities, most importantly, the messages shared with the pastors and speakers, morning devotions, and evening services blessed the campers to lean on the Bible to know God and His promises more, to use the valuable gifts from God to glorify Him, and to energize our lives by seeking the Holy Spirit.
Each of us experienced the marvelous presence of the Lord and surrendered our lives to Him throughout the days in the youth camp. We praised, jumped, danced, cheered, shared, prayed, worshiped, and worked together; all of these for the glory of God. Every summer has a story. And this is how happy and memorable the successful, summer youth camp was for us because of the organizers, and more than that because of God.
